El empleo de bajos ingresos en la Argentina. Caracterización regional entre 2003 y 2010
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to approach the issue of “low income employment” (LIE). Given the predominantly empirical nature of the issue, we introduce a measurement and characterization of the situation in Argentina for years 2003 to 2010 using data of the Encuesta Permanente de Hogares. The thresholds considered here were the Minimum Wage and half the average earning of full-time employees. Results account for an important increase in LIE between the years examined, as well as for some gaps. From the calculation of poverty intensity indicators, it is inferred that despite the sharp increase in labor registration and the economic growth of Argentina between 2003 and 2010, the LIE has not given the same proportion.
