Abstract

The Local Territorial Development is an endogenous process of social construction that aims at the generation of local capacities taking advantage of the territorial resources to strengthen the studding socio-institutional and the economic productive system and to mobilize them to improve the quality of life of a community. A relevant aspect, with a view to the Local Development, is to know the structure and evolution of the population, the profile of the labor market, as well as the principal problems of employment in the zone in consideration. The Region of Cuyo, integrated historically by the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis, presents singularities both in his productive profiles and in his economic development. Especially, San Luis Province is characterized strongly by the application of a supported public politics of reduction of the effects of unemployment and inequity that demonstrated deeply from the devaluation of the currency. In this sense, this work that continues and updates the line of a previous study related to the Region Center Extended, elaborated with provisional information of the Census 2010, tries to reach to the study of the labor market of the Region and his relation with the territorial development, elaborating a diagnosis of the involved provinces. As principal source of information, there is in use the Base of Microinformation of the EPH, which the INDEC relieves and publishes, for the period understood between 2003 and 2011, and definitive information of the National Census of Population, Homes and Housings 2010.
