Abstract

The recent surveys on productive sectors demanding engineers in Argentina show that we are in a stage of redefinition of the qualification, to redesign their knowledge and the demands of recruiting engineers, induced by new forms of production, implementation of new computer technologies, the networking and communications development. Summarizes several years of work Monitoring Laboratories Graduate Insertion. We part of the characteristics of industrial development in recent decades and the changing demands of the companies in each region, classified into those who maintained traditional behavior and those that arise breaks with past strategies, successful or unsuccessful in improving their structural situations. It discusses the challenges of engineering training institutions and the demands of discriminating knowledge and skills across specialties.
