Abstract

The intention of this article is to emphasize the configuration of inequality, and distribution processes, particularly in Mar del Plata (Argentina) in recent decades, based on a longstanding hypothesis: structural heterogeneity. We focuse on the description for the process by which men and women play their daily survival conditions based on productive economic nature in which they are inserted, and sociopolitical characteristics that implies; social classes. From this hypothesis implies certain assumptions: a) the centrality of the category of occupational classes as explanatory conceptual notion of inequality; b ) the characterization of, not a dual market, but a kind of logic of accumulation adjusted to a heterogeneous economy; c ) and the description of classes that are configured around this heterogeneity, and for which structural probabilities of suitable compensation limits, and in that sense, inequality constraints, and opportunities to reverse their situation, which are closely linked to the type of reproductive economic integration.
